The Community Impact Award recognizes first responders for going above and beyond their daily duties.
CPI Security recognized officers with Apex Police Department’s Squad three because of their efforts to develop the Hope for the Moment initiative, a program that provides bags filled with necessities to people in need.
Officers on Apex Police Department’s Squad 3 encountered a woman in the road with nowhere to go, carrying all her belongings in grocery bags. Using their own money, the officers purchased the woman lodging for the night, clothing, and food. They also partnered with a local church, the Hope Community Church Apex, to get her a bag for her belongings.
The original encounter led to an even greater partnership with the church in which more bags and necessities were gathered, and the Hope for the Moment program was developed. Now, officers have bags readily available and can hand them out when they encounter a person in need.
To further the mission of the Hope for the Moment program, CPI Security made a $1,000 donation to the program.
