Your CPI Panel: What to Do During A Power Outage

When your home loses power, you will see an “A/C Power Failure Trouble” condition appear on your CPI panel. You will also be alerted through a series of beeps.

In the event this happens, there are simple steps you can take to silence the beeping.

It’s also important to note that your panel will run off of the rechargeable backup battery for 24-48 hours during a power outage. So, if you have a break-in, fire, carbon monoxide threat, or medical emergency, your alarm will still notify our central station. Once power is restored, the backup battery should begin to recharge. If it doesn’t recharge in 12-24 hours please contact us at [email protected]Devices that operate off of Wi-Fi, like your cameras, will not operate during a power outage because they require power to operate.

How to Silence Trouble Beeps by Panel

Through the inTouch App:

1. Select the menu tab.
2. Select “Security System.”
3. Select the Settings icon in the upper right corner of the security system page.
4. Select “Trouble Beeps” and then select “On”.
5. After selecting “On” you will choose the option “Turn Off for 7 Days”.
6. The next prompt will give you the option to “Cancel” or to “Turn Off”.
7. If you select “Turn Off” all trouble beeps at the panel will be silenced for 7 days and will automatically default back to “On” after that time frame.

 

From The Panel:

1. Tap the touch screen.
2. Select the envelope in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
3. Select “Messages/Alerts/Alarms.” This is where you can see all current troubles and alerts.
4. To silence the beeping, either select each alert individually or acknowledge all troubles and alerts by selecting “Acknowledge All.”

From the Panel:

1. Select Security.
2. Tap on the Yellow Triangle Icon.
3. Select OK.

***The E3 Panel cannot be silenced from the app.***

 

R2/S1

1. Select the menu tab.
2. Select “Security System.”
3. Select the Settings icon in the upper right corner of the security system page.
4. Select “Trouble Beeps” and then select “On”.
5. After selecting “On” you will choose the option “Turn Off for 7 Days”.
6. The next prompt will give you the option to “Cancel” or to “Turn Off”.
7. If you select “Turn Off” all trouble beeps at the panel will be silenced for 7 days and will automatically default back to “On” after that time frame.

 

From The Panel:

1. Press the ‘*’ key on the keypad, and the system will display the current trouble.
2. To silence the troubles, press the “*” key one more time.

Non – LCD keypad:

1. Hold down the ‘*’ key.
2. A beeping sound will begin cycling through tone and volume levels. Hold it down until the desired volume level is reach and release.

LCD keypad:

1. Press ‘*6’.
2. Scroll to buzzer control and press ‘*’.
3. Scroll through to desired volume level (0-10). Press ‘#’.

*** The DSC Panel cannot be silenced from the app.***
