CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot Race Day

Thanksgiving Day is one of the biggest running days of the year and right here in the Queen City is no different with the 34th annual CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot taking place at SouthPark Mall. More than 8,600 people participated in 8K, 5K, 1 Mile and Tot Trot events, making it the largest community running event in North Carolina.

CPI Security is proud to be the first-ever title sponsor of the Charlotte Turkey Trot. CPI Security CEO Ken Gill has been participating in the Turkey Trot with his family for many years, however, this year was even more memorable as CPI takes on the title role.

“We have a lot to be thankful for this holiday, and we’re excited to celebrate with thousands of our neighbors on Thanksgiving Day. Don’t strain your drumsticks and may the best turkeys win!” Gill said.

Gill happily started the 8K and 5K races with what CPI has branded as its race team quote, “Run like you stole it!”

CPI team members participated in the race and greeted other participants with a prize wheel and its “Big Red Chair” photo op in the finish line festival on race day!

“Our event is all about family, community and tradition,” states David Jessey, one of the Event Directors, “and we’re grateful to have CPI Security and a blue-chip roster of partners who are really helping us to elevate the event day experience for participants.”

Another reason CPI Security is proud to sponsor the CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot is because 20% of all corporate sponsorships goes directly to charity. Samaritan’s Feet is the lead beneficiary with proceeds from the event providing shoes for children in the Charlotte region.

Additionally, trotters were encouraged to donate toys on race day to benefit the CMPD Police Explorers Christmas Project. CPI Security has been supporting the toy drive for 28 years.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
